Talking Points for a Meeting between Heinz Hoffmann (East German Minister of Defense) and Dmitry Ustinov (Soviet Minister of Defense) during the 14th CMD Session

Description: This is a document drafted in preparation for a meeting between East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann and Soviet Minister of Defense Dmitry Ustinov during the 14th meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Defense in Moscow. Hoffmann plans to discuss the supply of raw material to East Germany, the offensive military doctrine of the US, and the situation in Poland. Another topic to be addressed in the meeting is the redesignation of the East German Main Staff as the "General Staff". Hoffmann also mentions the question of future Soviet technical support as well as the increase of East German arms exports to the Soviet Union.
