Speech by Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister János Nagy

Description: This is a transcript of a speech by Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister János Nagy given at a meeting of the Warsaw Pact Deputy Foreign Ministers in East Berlin in 1977. Nagy addresses Hungary's political and economic relations with the northern European states. The speech addresses the political state of affairs in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland as well as Hungary's objectives in its relations with these countries. Special attention is given to issues such as economic cooperation, the implementation of the CSCE's Helsinki Final Act, and détente. Nagy depicts Finland as being especially open to cooperation.
