Description:
This Soviet foreign ministry memorandum outlines the main foreign policy questions facing the Communist bloc. The importance of consolidating the socialist camp is emphasized, in order to create a united point of view on foreign policy. The importance of strengthening the Warsaw Pact as a political forum is reiterated, and rapprochement with Yugoslavia is encouraged. Furthermore, the memorandum encourages better political, economic and cultural relations with Asian countries. Khrushchev's trip to Afghanistan, India and Burma is described as an example for desirable personal contacts.
