Description: These articles, published in the East German newspaper "Neues Deutschland", report on the extraordinary session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Ministers of Defense in Berlin 1983. The newspaper articles address NATO's plans to station intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Western Europe. In response to the security threat posed by NATO and the US, the Warsaw Pact member states announce the counter-deployment of Soviet missiles in Czechoslovakia and East Germany.
