Improvements to the UAF and their Equipment with Weapons and Armaments in the Period from 1991 to 1995 (Presentation)

5 Jul 1988
Description: This is a report on the state and development of the United Armed Forces (UAF) by Warsaw Pact (WP) Supreme Commander Viktor Kulikov, delivered at the 21st session of the WP Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Moscow in 1988. The author reviews the modernization of the UAF since 1986 and the basic planning for its further development until 1995. However, a number of problems remain, including unilateral cuts in military spending, underestimations of the danger from NATO, and economic problems affecting the production of armaments.
