Information on Incident Involving Representatives of the UK Mission in the Kleinmachnow Area, 10-11 March 1962

Description: This report describes an incident during the night of 10-11 March 1962, when border guards in Kleinmachnow near Potsdam fired on a vehicle belonging to the British Military Liaison Mission. According to the information offered here, the vehicle had not been previously recognized as belonging to the British Mission, the driver of the vehicle was severely injured, and the East German border guards acted correctly and in line with their instructions.
