1968: The Fraternal Invasion

Jan 2005
Description: This summary of oral history interviews with former Czechoslovak generals provides information on the eve of the Soviet invasion in Czechoslovakia and the "Šumava" exercise. It further points to the absence of a comprehensive Warsaw Pact doctrine and explains that the military doctrine was based on two guiding principles, the Brezhnev Doctrine and the offensive organization of the Warsaw Pact.

Collection: Czechoslovak Generals
