Exposé du Ministre Belge des Affaires Etrangères (Pierre Harmel)

15 Feb 1967
Description: This statement by the Belgian delegation gives an overview of their propositions on the implementation of the resolution on Future Tasks of the Alliance. It suggests that the mandate be executed without taking political decisions. In accordance with the UK delegation, the statement emphasizes the importance of analyzing the contemporary situation in the first phase of the study. The second phase of the study should then be devoted to examining the role of the European NATO members in the alliance. The document concludes with propositions of NATO Secretary General Manlio Brosio.
