Description:
This is a report by East German Defense Minister Heinz Hoffmann to the National Defense Council (NDC) on the results of the fourth session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in East Berlin in 1972. The CDM discussed the state of the WP's transportation system and the state of NATO's armed forces. During the CDM session, the Romanian delegation speaks in favor of good relations with both Socialist and capitalist states and, together with Hungary, refuses to sign up to an integrated WP air defense plan.
