Memorandum of Conversation Between the Indian Prime Minister (Indira Gandhi) and a East German Emissary

Description: This document reports on a conversation between the Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and East German special emissary Albert Norden, member of the politburo of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. The main issue of the talk is the question of the diplomatic recognition of the GDR by India. Gandhi sees no fundamental obstacles but refuses his request to commit to a specific date for recognition.
