Circular Letter

Description: In this circular letter, Romanian Foreign Minister George Macovescu offers information on the proceedings of the December 1970 conference of the Political Consultative Committee (PCC). According to Macovescu, appreciation was expressed regarding the conclusion of the treaties between the Soviet Union and Poland on one hand, and West Germany on the other. The recognition of East Germany was seen as a central issue in the normalization of the situation in Europe. Indochina, the independent states of Africa, Guinea, and the Middle East were also discussed at the PCC conference.
