Description:
Among the main issues of this Bulgarian proposal for the improvement of the Warsaw Pact structures, put forth at the 1989 Bucharest meeting of the Political Consultative Committee (PCC), are: (i) the preservation of the PCC within the Warsaw Pact, (ii) the creation of a permanent political working body to promote information exchange, international situation analysis, etc., (iii) the creation of a special agency on the problems of the Common European Process, (iv) improving military cooperation and the mechanism for democratization of the activities of the military organs, and (v) the creation of a Warsaw Pact Joint Development and Research Center.
