Description: This is the first letter of reply from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to Daniele Ganser, whose Freedom of Information Act request dated 14 December 2000 is declined. The CIA can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of records related to the Operation Gladio and states that even if such information existed, it would stay classified for reasons of national security.
