Communiqué

2 Dec 1981
Description: This communiqué of the 1981 meeting of Warsaw Pact foreign ministers expresses concern at the deteriorating international political climate and the escalation of the arms race. The ministers call for a moratorium on the moderinizing and stationing of new intermediate-range nuclear weapons in Europe as well as for a renewed effort at arms limitation talks between the United States and Soviet Union. They commend the inclusion of military détente at the CSCE meeting in Madrid.
