Description: This document informs Eastern Bloc countries on a recent conversation held in New York between the Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Gromyko, and U.S. Secretary of State Dean Rusk. The main topics discussed are the question of a peace treaty with germany and the status of West-Berlin. Rusk admonishes his counterpart that both Khrushchev nor Kennedy should have an interest in preventing nuclear conflict.
