Description:
In this letter, East German defense minister Heinz Hoffmann informs the supreme commander of the Unified Supreme Command of the Warsaw Pact (WP), Marshal Andrei Grechko, about the content of a letter from East German head of state Walter Ulbricht to Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev on the equipment of the National People's Army (NVA) with new Soviet weapons. Hoffmann informs Grechko about Ulbricht's consent to decisions taken in the defense commission of COMECON, such as proposals for an increased specialization of WP armament production.
