Comment of East German Defense Ministry on Assessment of Adversary's Intelligence on Development of Warsaw Pact Forces and Armaments

12 Nov 1987
Description: This document assesses the informational value of a NATO document on the development of the Warsaw Pact forces and armaments. The East German Ministry of Defense prepared the document and concludes that the NATO document has a relatively high value. The NATO statements regarding military policy, military training and leadership, deployment of nuclear weapons outside the Soviet Union, and branches of the East German army are discussed in detail. On a number of crucial issues, the East German MoD cannot comment since it does not have the information.
