Report on the State of the Bulgarian Army in the Wake of the Middle East War

7 Oct 1967
Description: This report is an assessment of the state of the Bulgarian army in light of the June 1967 Arab-Israeli war. Defense Minister Dobri Dzurov concludes that the army would be entirely unprepared for any such engagement. He states that particularly in the case of a surprise attack by Greece or Turkey, his army would be unable to counter in either direction. The report includes information on the status of intelligence, combat and mobilization readiness, training of commanders, staff, and troops, and the political and moral status of the Bulgarian armed forces.
