Communiqué

Description: This communiqué of the 1978 meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) in Sofia concentrates on the disarmament initiative for the upcoming United Nations session on disarmament. The Warsaw Pact foreign ministers state that the positive outcome of the Belgrade Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) must be supplemented by confidence-building measures. Additionally, they advocate the inclusion of military aspects of security in future negotiation rounds.
