The Šumava Exercise: Report by Generals István Oláh and Ferenc Szücs to the Hungarian Politburo

Description: This report by Hungarian generals István Oláh and Ferenc Szücs discusses the Warsaw Pact's (WP) "Šumava" military exercise. Oláh and Szücs report on the tense relations between the members of the Czechoslovak armed forces and the Soviet exercise commanders. The Hungarians conclude that the maneuvers highlight the shortcomings and irregularities within the WP.
